The football gods have been fucking us the last 5 years. They can suck a dick. And it's nothing to do with Bama for me. Recruit well and make use of our talent, everyone be on the same page and complete consecutive passes. The wins will take care of themselves
And I'll be a grandma. A sobering thought. It took LSU 20 years to re-establish stability as a program after the Charlie Mac debacle. Watching Nebraska, Miami, Texas, and Tennessee, I am filled with trepidation over all of this.
I agree, we beat Bama in their stadium, so under the BCS I don't think we should have played them. However the powers that be wanted to kiss their ass, plus Ok St losing opened everything up for that to happen. I agree it's difficult to beat a team twice but LSU was not even ready for that game. That is what really stung. Bama made adjustments, while LSU didn't. They were playing for history and to just let it go that easily. Being honest, Bama outplayed LSU in the regular season game but Miles stuck to his guns and won. Saban on the other hand made the mistakes. SInce then Saban has stepped it up while Miles has not. Could not agree more on how the trajectory has went for both LSU and Bama since that game.
To me, the football gods started screwing us right then and there. I remember Saban politicking to get in that game; it made me sick. Even with Okie State losing that game, they should have still been in the championship. There were extenuating circumstances around that with the plane crash involving the women's basketball team. I'm starting to get all riled up again.
I have no problem with Alabama being in the game. The goal of the BCS was to match the two best teams and that's what they did. Nobody else was even close to being as good as either LSU or Alabama. If we wanted to win our coach should have coached better and our offense should have played better. Still sucks that we lost
This sums up my feelings as well. I don't trust the current board to hire a non-Curley. Fire a winning coach and elite coaches do NOT come knocking at your door. We would be better off leaving Miles in place. Especially if we win the A&M game and the bowl game. If we have a worse season next year (losing record in the SEC), maybe then we can get to the point where we are talking about a change. This is ridiculously early and makes us look stupid. I sat through the Curley years. Just wanted to go on the record.
There are about 6 million reasons why an elite coach would take the job. Those guys aren't idiots. They see the same thinngs we see, the decline of the Hat's quality of coaching. A really elite coaches ego will tell him that with the talent and resources available here he could do better
Sorry, fire a winning coach that recruits well and competes in every game and historically it has not turned out well. As Stacy stated: Nebraska, Miami, Texas, and Tennessee situations are what is more common. I don't see the 6 millions reasons you speak of panning out in the real world. Throw in the current leadership at LSU and this has the makings of a cluster fuck that is going to plunge us into the 90's all over again. You guys are bat shit crazy.
