To stay another year in college and risk injury is not a smart move. Remember Chris Faulk? Take the money NOW! A guy with his academic focus will get the degree in time with financial security to boot. 1st round grade by the NFL, huge rookie contract and bonus. The "almost" sure thing is now, not 12 months from now.

I love how so many of our "fans" are trying to talk juniors into leaving our program. Aside of any of Miles' shortcomings, our mass exodus of underclassmen has really hurt LSU.

If we only lose Hawkins this year, then it is a huge step in the right direction. I love to see LSU guys seeing success in the NFL, but we need experienced upperclassmen in order to truly compete for titles.

That would be a valid argument if he was putting off racing in NASCAR for a year.

He would be able to afford a chauffeur. Or just use Uber.

If he was Stacey's son she would tell him to stay away from the pointe shoes.

There are certain situations where you're better off leaving. White I think he is better off, would love for him to stay, think it's foolish though. Beckwith, he could use another year. I don't want any of em to leave.

I agree wholeheartedly. If you're a 1st rd pick, you gotta go. No question about it.

Depends on your view of better off. To you it's simply a money decision. To him it's a life decision. Yes, based solely on money, the smart decision is to go pro, but maybe there are things just as important as money to him.

QUESTION: Isn't there insurance that returning seniors who were graded a "first round selection" can purchase?

I thought that there was and would guess that the premiums could be hedged against future earnings or collecting on the insurance in case of a devastating injury prevented one from being selected high in the NFL draft?

I think only the injury would be covered. Otherwise, a player could hypothetically load up on his insurance and tank and then collect for the rest of his life.
