No, he's not. He's getting his degree. I believe he was valedictorian of his high school, so obviously he is smart, and his degree means something. Sport/Football is a perishable skill. One knee injury and he's out for good. He's thinking ahead. I know he's projected 1st rd., but that's not a guarantee. If he stays solid this year, the NFLs still there, but he has other options if it doesn't pan out. I'm all about backup plans. You can tell the projected 1st rd status did give him pause though.

As an LSU fan I'm glad he's returning. However, he's taking a bigger risk by going back to school.
Most students/student athletes don't graduate in 4 years anyway. You can finish your degree anytime. What if he gets injured in college or just has a bad season? If he tears up his knee in an NFL training camp and never plays a down in the NFL he would still have millions of dollars and could pay to finish his degree if he wants to. If he tears up his knee in college he might not ever see the NFL. He was a projected 1st rd pick and will never be able to recoup those potential earnings.

We take big risks every time we get behind a wheel. He could also die in a car wreck on the way to back for spring semester. Can't live life that way.

Yeah but if you're guaranteed 20 mill if you don't drive for a year you don't drive for a year. If you are projected Rd 1 you go. But I'll take it.
