No kidding. Or Herbstreit for that matter. By contrast, who are the best? I've always liked Brad Nessler, but the last telecast I watched him cover, he seemed to be slipping a bit. And, although he's an Ole Miss grad, I like Ron Franklin too.
I think Chris Collinsworth and Tom Hammond deserve to be on here simply for their performances on Madden 09. They make that game almost unbearable to play with the volume on.
Really?? #1 ahead of Musberger, Holtz, and a bunch of others who are far worse than Johnny? Where is Faldo on your list? Miller is heads and shoulders above Nick as an analyst.
Faldo is alright. They let him talk a lot during the smaller events which is fine. If he did that during the summer it would be beyond annoying. Johnny Miller rubs me the wrong way. Must be a generational thing because I dont know one younger person that likes him -- people probably view him differently if they grew up with him and heard him being interviewed throughout his career. He just seems bitter all day long and it seems like his tone rarely matches the current tone on the course.
my god has anyone lived off their past more than this dude. that 1959 or 62 perfect round. whatever the f it was. he talks about tiger in comparison to himself ALL THE TIME. drives me insane. he truly sees himself as the tiger of his era. worst yet, when he put on that old crap he wore during that round in the booth. my goodness.:lol:
The one thing about Miller is you love him or hate him. There's no middle ground. And if the Tour players votes were made public they would fall in the hate him category. The only thing he does that bothers me is sometimes he gets a little carried away with the telestrator breaking down a swing and gets way too technical. He had a pretty good Tour career winning 25 times including 2 majors. He had an incredible run in the mid '70s where he probably got most of his 25 wins. In about a 3 year span he put on an incredible display of shotmaking particularly with the iron shots into greens. He wasn't the worlds greatest putter but he was hitting the irons so close he didn't need to be. And those shots were with '70s Wilson Staff blades.
Where's Michael Irvin and Deion Sanders? Great players who offer nothing valuable during the telecast.
