I agree when #19 caught the flip I thought when have I seen a TE reverse??? never It was amazing and I would not call it a trick play, it was a brilliant play!
Simply the perfect play called at the perfect time, and that definitely looks like Les' calling card. Where I was in the student section my view of the offensive backfield was limited. So on the initial handoff all I saw was 10 bodies flying to the right side of the line and it looked like a turnover on downs. Next thing I knew here's this white jersey hooking around the left side for a big gain and there's this other white jersey with a monster block in pursuit. I'm inclined to think BG drew that play up. We never saw anything like that out of Crowton's playbook even with a more mobile tight end like Richard Dickson to run it. Unless he pulled it out of the ultra-super-secret playbook that we've been waiting to spring on opponents for 3 years now.
He'd be pretty far down the line of guys I'd like to see us snap the ball to directly if we ever did use a wildcat. But that doesn't seem to be in the plans at this point for LSU. I remember in the '05 Chick-fil-A bowl we ran a few snaps with Skyler lined up behind center, but since then we haven't really bought into the whole craze. I'd rather see Shep, Pat Pete, Randle, Ridley or Ford standing back there than DeAngelo.
