When you make absurd statements people are going to form negative opinions about your thought process. Everyone is concerned about our defense, no one wants to lose our 2 best receivers next year but we aren't ready to throw in the towel as to our future success based on one loss, just like all of the other teams fans won't even though all have suffered through bad defensive games.

You remind me of all the so-called LSU fans who thought we would never again contend for even an SECW title after the close win at Arizona St in 2005.

Does anyone think Anthony Jennings will be our starting quarterback next year? I wouldn't be surprised if we see Rivers starting and Jennings coming in like Flynn and Perrilloux, I dare not mention the other 2 I could compare that too. Then a 2 headed monster when Rivers leaves, Rettig and Jennings. Or does anyone think it's solely going to be Jennings. I'm interested on seeing what Rivers will be like under Cameron.

Don't underestimate Rettig just because they redshirted him. I think he will compete in the spring. I am disappointed to have never gotten a good look at Rivers, but they way the coaches put Jennings right ahead of him, I suspect he may find some greener pastures after next spring if he does not come out on top.

I can only speak for myself here, but when you call yourself a "realist", it implies that anybody who doesn't see things your way is delusional. Myself and others like me see a lot of good things with this team...things that give us a lot of encouragement. You and people like yourself only see the discouraging things. It's just a matter of differing perspectives, but only YOURS is "real"?

And how can anyone be a "realist" when trying to predict the future, anyway? Why is YOUR vision of the future any more "real" than mine?

Lastly, if you want to honestly debate, you have to consider the opposition's arguments before rebutting with the same repeated mantra of "I'm right, you're wrong, the end". Otherwise, you just make yourself look like an ass.

Not true. I can say many positive things.
I love our offense, our plays our rbs Qb, wr. Our offensive line sucks. What more is there really to say. Anything else, than yeah offensively delusional.

Since our entire defense is sub par i really have no positives, sorry. Our safeties and dbs constantly and consistently get burned and take really bad angles. linebackers miss tackles and fail to produce adequate pressure. Our blitzes suck. Our d line is avg and thats being nice. We know its not the scheme bc chavis has been phenom for some time. So its the athletes and their understanding of the scheme, plays and ability to adapt to audibles

Special teams. We have a great kicker.

U can either agree or not but if my quick and simple summary doesnt produce some support , then yes i think many are delusional

Here is where I disagree with you. I see tons of upside with Tre White and Rashard Robinson, those guys are gonna get LSU back to being DBU. Jalen Mills is being asked to cover opposing teams best receiver and has struggled at times like Tharold Simon did last year, but he is still a really good corner. Plus it's not like they are getting help from the safeties. I also think Kwon Alexander has solidified himself as the best linebacker on this team currently, which isn't saying much I reckon because Barrow and Welter are terrible. But I do think Kwon is having a good season. My immediate concern is why the d line hasn't stepped it up and gotten pressure. But look at the roster, this team is overflowing with young talent.

u make some excellent points. i think one or two guys who may get the scheme and are pretty, have to make up for the ones that dont, but when they try, someone is going to be wide open. i understand they are inexperienced ( i get that), however- i do not like/ or want to accept the fact that they cannot grasp the scheme, the plays, and who to cover or what the coverage is supposed to be. they have 'two jobs"- school and football. how can they ever be elite and go to the next level if they cant grasp why they are even at LSU in the first place?

When you lose a Bennie Logan, Tharold Simon, Minter, Mingo and Montgomery all juniors, you'll feel the sting. Too much talent and too much knowledge. Just think how good this team would have been.
