If all these guys are of the same class, why is it that we are losing Mo Claiborne next year, but most of these guys are listed as sophmores and will be back next year.

Did Mo not redshirt, whereas the other did??

Almost the entire 2009 class was redshirted. Mo was not one of them. That's why we are so young and so deep. 2009 and 2010 are almost like one big class.

    Agreed.
I would argue he has been the biggest bust since Xavier Carter.
I like RS he has been a great advocate for LSU and helped recruit some big time players.
But on the field he has been mediocre at best.
He has shown flashes but compared to the other skill players there are several that have a bigger impact on offense.
Heck you could argue ODB Jr. Is a bigger impact now that RS.

I think Russell's biggest problem is he didn't go to an Oregon style offensive college to play ball; he chose the purple and gold instead and has been an exemplary leader. He might have made the best decision though for his future and might be able to make it as a slot type receiver in the nfl if he continues to develope.

I wouldn't consider neither Russell or Xman a flop. Flops are guys who come in and don't contribute one iota, are troublesome and have no impact. Both of these guys have made an impact and xman made his mark in track. What has happened after he left hasn't been to good from what I've heard though.

No way. Shepard is a real contributor.

Shepard hasn't lived up to his hype, but he certainly isn't a bust. And to compare him to Xavier Carter is pretty unfair, I think.

Probably fair enough, I am wrong on that one.
Shep has been very much a positive for LSU. Both on and off the field.

When he came here I bought into the "chosen one" stuff even got my neighbors kid a 10 jersey.
I like Shep and when he does break loose it is fun to watch.
I really thought he was going to be a percy harvin type. IE people have to scheme for him.
That hasnt happened. But you are right to call him a bust is unfair.
    Maybe just over hyped.

Really? That's pretty harsh. No, he hasn't been crazy productive here, but it's not like he's been a ghost either. He's put up close to 1000 all purpose yards to date all while being shuffled between three positions. And even if his career hasn't lived up to what you hoped it would be, that isn't indicative of anything he did wrong.

He probably should have redshirted for starters, but beyond that he was poorly utilized from the jump by Gary Crowton.

Keep in mind he is still a junior and will have one more season to please you.

It doesn't matter. The only prerequisite is being removed from high school 3 years to be eligible for the NFL draft.

Claiborne is the only one we're discussing because he is being projected top 10 NFL pick and #1 corner by the draft experts (McShay for sure, probably Kiper has chimed in as well).

Any of those guys could go. I would worry most about #99.
