i dont think you understand logic, buddy. when i say "all X are Y", the way to prove that is to list all X and be certain they are in fact Y. difficult to prove. i could say that all presidents have been men, and it would be true, but to prove it i would have to list 44 people and demonstrate that they are male, perhaps with dna testing. but to disprove it is very simple, you could list one single counterexample. so obviously poor people is a larger group than US presidents, so i cant list all of them. but you could prove me wrong with one single counterexample, which you do not have. you say i am wrong, prove it, who is poor. do you know poor person? are they skinny? why not? are they naked? are they freezing to death? if the answer to any of these questions is yes, then i submit to you that they are a drug addict or somehow mentally deranged.
poor people in particular are wildly overindulgent. they want stuff and more stuff. again poor people are generally fatter than rich people. yunno why? because poor people are bad at making decisions. thats why they are poor. not much we can do about that, eh? for as long as stupid people exist, some people will be poorer. in america we are so rich that even the idiots have money enough to be fat. again, i agree that health care is expensive. thats a different issue.
i understand logic just fine, the problem is that you made a statement and when I called you on it you now want to make it my responsibility to dispute it. that's not logic, that's insanity. to say that you can make a blanket statement then tell me that I am responsible for explaining it is insanity, not logic.
indulgence is not exclusive to the poor. i know plenty of fat rich people too, so again you are making an over generalization. health care is too expensive....we agree there.
if you wont dispute it, who will? should i dispute myself? you dont agree, tell me why. you are the one who disagrees, sorry if i wont argue your points for you, lazybones.
can you read? i never said all fat eople are poor. i said poor people are fatter, which is objectively true. obesity is far bigger of a problem among the poor. they are bad at decisionmaking. obesity is not a problem among the poor in the actual poor countries.
This is the absolute idiocy of your notion. You want use American standards to define wealthy but Botswana standards to describe poor. :insane: American poor have to live in a country where the cheapest rental property costs $350-$500 a month, you can't just live in a grass hut or a barrio shack in America. American poor have to live in a country where food is expensive, where transportation is expensive, where taxes are significant, and where you have to be mobile to find work. I know people who have worked hard for decades and then through disability or loss of business income are living desperately poor. No they don't have cable TV and a new car. I have a relative who was a farm wife who lost her husband and is years short of the social security she paid for. Only the fact that her property is paid for keeps her out of public housing and the generosity of her children keeps her refrigerator full. She has no cable TV and an old farm truck. I have a former girlfriend who became disabled in a car accident who has been waiting for a year for the Social Security disability that she paid for to be approved. I give her several hundred dollars a month to help pay her rent. If not for food stamps and financial help from friends and family, she would be living in her $900 car and panhandling at age 49. She has no cable TV and a POS vehicle. These people are poor. They are not lazy and they are not lifelong freeloaders on society. They don't have the option of living in a hut in Botswanna and eating UNICEF flour. They have to survive in a wealthy country, that fortunately provides for its indigents, like all modern civilizations do.
your examples of poor people all have homes and plenty to eat in spite of unfortunate circumstances. they have things like warm homes and full refrigerators and trucks. again, actual poor people are hungry.
First, the lazybones part made me laugh so I have to give you that. Okay, I am going to explain this one more time, my friend: You made a statement that all poor people are fat single mothers with cable tv. I disputed that statement by stating that all poor people are not just fat single mothers with cable tv. It is at this point in the discussion that you have to either prove to me that all poor people are fat single mothers with cable tv or admit that your statement was an over generalization. That is all.
No, you said "show me a poor person in america and i will show you a fat single mom with cable tv." these are your words. I told you it was an over generalization and you have since been crab walking your way out of it by trying to put this on me. Face it, all poor people are not fat single mothers with cable tv. Your larger point that poor in America and poor in Botswana are two different things is well made. That said, we LIVE in America, not Botswana. Honestly, this sounds like your elitist way of suggesting that the poor in America are not poor enough.
