of course, Ensminger had to work with what the team has practiced up to this point, but there WAS something significantly, philosophically different. That is, the passing game employed a lot more quick, automatic, move-the-chain type passes versus the previous low percentage, snap the ball then read the field for a first down-type approach. It's a real pity that Les could never figure out that his play action, punish the defense downfield approach meant a lot of three and outs. The pieces are all in place, as they've always been, and it will only get better from here.
I think he meant you ARE red55. Well, I know he meant that but...well, it's complicated, just trust me.
Indeed. I am convinced that one of the biggest reasons that our D looked so good last night is that they were fresh instead of being hung out to dry by a gazillion 3 and outs.
i said this in the game thread and i agree with the original post not too much changed as far as the playbook. We did see some 3 and 4 wide on that first drive from the spread and more passing throughout the game, but the thing that stood out to me the most was that Missouri didn't back out of the box all night and LSU had no problem running against a defense that had safeties 10 yards off the ball. I firmly believe this team quit on Miles, at least some of them. It's going to be interesting to see what this offensive line can do against a much better Florida defense. Etling made good decisions but still has problems completing passes over 20 yards. But him dumping the ball off to the check down is something we haven't seen in a while. I also thing DJ Chark has earned a starting position over Dupre. On that long completion that Chark stole from the defender, Dupre wouldn't have done that. He doesn't fight for the football.
