You know, Jadaveon Clowney has all the physical attributes to be one of the best defensive players to come out of college in a while. Speed, power, height, he's got it all. However, while ESPN is sucking this dude's clowney constantly, and talking about how great he is, no one seems to mention how 6 knee Josh D took his ass to the woodshed last year. Jadaveon who? I mean he was on the sideline half the game because he was so ineffective. I'm telling you if this dude wins the Heisman because he has a few big hits and a few big games and a lot of sacks because he plays Kentucky, Mizzou, Tennessee, and probably some other directional schools, I'm never watching anything but LSU from here on out, and I will completely boycott ESPN unless LSU is on. For as good as he is, I'm sorry, he hasn't had near the impact on the game that Patrick Peterson or Tyrann Mathieu had, and that's just real shit.
Uh, you did see the awards given out to Manti Teo, right? And then watched an outstanding offensive line and running core run through, around, and over? Did you notice that there was no Alabama, LSU, TAMU, on the USCe schedule too? Are you thinking, like the rest of us, there could be a conspiracy down at the home office?
Personally it doesn't matter imo because Clowney reminds me of a defensive Jamarcus Russell. All the talent in the world but nothing between the ears and no heart. I would be shocked if he wins the heisman, (shouldnt be though, the heisman is a bullshit diva award now) although I think you may have a valid point, I think Clowney could be one of those guys that could be completely absent in some big games and still get heisman votes.
The way things are now LSU can only play two of the top three from the East. It's coming clear now why Saban wants to expand to a nine game conference schedule. Saddle LSU with Florida, Georgia and Carolina while Bama can defend the West's honor against Tennessee, Mizzou and Kentucky.
You don't hear Florida whining over the 2014 schedule of Alabama and LSU. The next SEC championship USCe wins, will be their FIRST. And don't forget to look at the recruiting numbers next year for Tenn/USC and try to imagine what's coming the next time you rotate toward the vols.
I'll tell you what's coming......NOTHING. UT has no home state talent and has to go out of state to Alabama, Miss, Ga and fight for out of state kids. They lose more than they win. UT run is over and done. It is going to take another Bama booster scandal to change that. USC may be in a good recruiting area but they have to deal with UGA, Clemson, North Carolina, Alabama, UF.....When your school is below all of these, it takes the big boys falling for you to get on top.
You don't hear Alabama whining about their schedule either but that's because it's a cakewalk every year.
I'm sorry but Clowney isn't impressive to me (except physically) Dude can't even stay on the field because he gets winded too easily. He frequently gives up on plays and stands around sometimes, watching the game like a spectator.
