If you can't call what happened to our D last night a positive, then you'll NEVER be happy. Jesus H. Christ, they stepped up and played like we've been begging them to. WTF can't you look at that as a positive and possible step in the right direction?
Where did I thank them for the bad games? I specifically said "against Alabama". I saw a great defensive effort last night. the players were sticking with their assignments. They were playing within their capabilities. Obviously the players have not been doing so in previous games. No doubt the coaches worked extra hard this past week to help the players make the necessary adjustments. *I* am thankful for their effort in this game.
After what we've seen in previous games, it couldn't have been easy to finally get through to the players.
You must still be drunk from tailgaiting. I've said repeatedly that the defense played great last night. However singling out the co DC's with a thank you for something they should have been doing since game one with so much talent is just plain stupid. It's about damn time they earn their money and if they don't continue to do the same they should be fired. They called one good game against a half decent offense whoopdy fricken do. Let's see if they can do it again.
I've seen a lot of melt downs on the board recently and while I'm not in melt down mode, I do have a comment and then I'm moving on. Yes the D played almost well. I say that because there were a TON of times where we had 2,3, 4, sometimes more guys on the ball carrier and everyone is trying to strip. I understand its part of football but it also gave up a lot of extra yardage when they could have just tackled. You doubt me, watch the replay if you can stomach it. All in all, they played good enough to win, but I was a bit dissapointed with the lack of tackling.
Yeah, its irritating to see LSU players riding the ball carrier slapping at the ball. Tackle damn it. I wasn't overwhelmed by our defense last night.
I noticed it too but it did save us a TD in the early part of the game. Think it was Chad Jones. I have to say I was very very happy with our defense last night as the thread starter's intention was, I'm pretty sure. They really stepped up. Saw a post questioning Bama's offense but they've got to be in the tip top of the SEC in scoring and everyone knows about our defensive play, as a conference, so that's saying something.
