since i was in the big easy saturday thru monday i had a lot of interaction btwn buckeye fans. all of it was pleasant, spirited, and fun. they have a great fan base and travel extremely well. i mention this because i have such a distaste for bad fans that i really like to recognize when a school really represents. OSU did that in every way including many of which stuck around bourbon st after the game and were very congratulatory. while i'm at it, about 98% of the interaction post game was cordial and saw many LSU fans going up to buckeye fans to say "great game"and such. there was one d-bag (lsu fan) that threw his drink from a balcony over a mixed group of buckeyes. that made me a little mad b/c it was a pretty cheap shot to take. but all in all i thought our own fans acted with as much class that elated drunken victorious fans could. most buckeye fans said if they're going to go somewhere to lose, they'd want it to be new orleans. another fan said, "you all have the hottest women i've ever seen in my f-ing life." all comments that made me proud as someone born in new orleans. i thought the city handled it well and i know money wise it had to be great for the city. just giving props to buckeye fans for being great vistiors.:thumb:
Great post, and I agree that both fan bases were very respectful. I think it may have been my drunk ass wandering back from bourbon street at 330am on sunday night with the hot women comment. Obviously not sure if it was you I told, but I vaguely remembering telling a couple of guys and a gal that very same thing. I will be rooting for LSU (as long as they don't play us again :yelwink2: ), as I was VERY impressed with a tremendous fan base. Thanks for the kind words!
