I'm not even sure I'm happy we won. I'm more relieved that we didn't lose. Boy oh boy do we got some stuff to work on. Oh well, we live to fight another day. Next week is the start of the SEC, the boys better be ready. :geauxtige
Some of the same problems we had last year. This game looked a lot like last year's season opener vs UW.
i don't like how conservative we got in 2nd half. penalties down the stretch hurt. secondary is not as strong as we 1st thought (outside of peterson)
But I tolerated it better last year because I assumed we'd improve over the course of the season. Which we never really did... This year, it's much harder to swallow. I was reserving judgement until I saw us play, and man, that 2nd quarter was sweet. The rest, however, sucked. Playing 1 out of 4 quarters won't win any championships.
3 or 4 big plays gave us 30 points in the 1st half, but JJ and the play-calling was terrible in the 2nd half. The team I saw in the 2nd half was the same team I saw last year.
