:tigereye: Don't know if posted before: The Daily Reveille Band surpasses fundraising goal -- Music director credits Lombardi Justin Fritscher Tiger Band raised the required $5 million to begin building the LSU Marching Band Hall. The band was required to raise $5 million by August 30 to receive $5 million in matching funds from the state. Steven Covington, music director, credits LSU System President John Lombardi with helping the band to meet their goal. "He worked with the Athletic Department and the University administration to make sure that revenue from ticket sales would be committed over a period of time to add up to the $4.5 million." Internal band fundraising generated an additional $1.4 million, pushing the effort $900,000 past its target.
