i love TGBFTL's version of Indiana Jones that incorporates a little Tiger Band traditional music into John Williams' ever recognizable soundtrack masterpiece. oh yeah...and a little CLM too...
I love the Tiger Band, when they on the field at pre-game and at the end of the 3rd quarter, I literally get goose bumps. But to tell you the truth, I hate during the game when I hear "Hey baby, won't be my girl", or whatever. Just not a football song IMO. I understand a portion of the crowd loves to sing it. I'm not sure who is being asked to "be my girl". The other team? just joking, but in my mind, not at all football. :milesmic::usaflagwa
maybe more than the lyrics or the tempo of the song, the band and stadium doing "hey baby" is about unity of a crowd of people with a common thread between them. and perhaps that unity creates an atmosphere of energy and bonding that transfers to the team on the field. perhaps singing "hey baby" is a "football song" simply because we make it one.
Yeah, because you know what they say about mob mentality. Something about being rational and making good judgments or something? I forget.:wave:
Apparently it debuted on a Louisiana radio station. So it's has cultural significance. That's what makes football it the south great. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Channel
