Since it is doubtful that lsutiga will be around to handle FT PICK 'EM this year, I have been asked if I intend to do it. I can, but would prefer someone who knows their way around a computer a little better than I do to handle it. Any volunteers?
It is my honor & pleasure to nominate tigerdro to be the 2008 TF Pick 'Em Administrator. All those in favor, Aye (everyone). Opposed, no (no one). Congrats tigerdro, it was unanimous.
I'm going to play, and I'm going to do just like I did the last time I played pick 'em (Bowl Edition '07)- I'm gonna win.
unless there is protest (which shall promptly be squashed), i'll start working up the foundation and getting it ready. does anyone have any suggestions or changes they think might be appropriate from last year's Pick 'Em?
I'm inclined to say stick with what we had last year which was 10 games each week, correct?? Most, if not all featured SEC games and of course the LSU game.
Here is one topic to throw out for discussion: I think we should include as many SEC games as possible. Last year I thought we had too many games that were teams that no one really followed or could watch to see how their pick turned out. Ex ULL vs ULM I say we should try to pick as many top 25 games and games that will be on the tube. We should exclude all LSU games besides the likes of us going against UGA, UF, and Auburn. Exclude all the potential blowout SEC matchups. Also picking the Thursday matchups also made the games more interesting to watch last season.
I would be in favor of the big SEC matchups and as many Top 25 games as possible. With or without the LSU game is OK also.
well, my goodness. that was beautiful democracy at it's finest. i hope my tax dollars weren't paying for that election. here is what i'm thinking for TF PICK 'EM: all games for each week will be from the TOP 25. i'm thinking there should be a good mix of SEC and at least one game from every other conference represented in the TOP 25. of course when BCS comes out, the picks will be from the BCS rankings. until then, what poll? Coaches? AP? alternate them each week? suggestions please. increase the number of games to 12. that will easily give us 4-6 SEC games and a good mix of other conferences which should yield good TV possibilities. here is a SAMPLE games list from the Coaches Poll. it is the top 5 plus 1 from each conference represented in the top 25, the LSU game, and the rest filled with SEC. This is only a sample - it may or may not be the week 1 list. Please do not post your picks based on this list. Georgia vs. Georgia Southern USC vs. Virginia Ohio State vs. Youngstown State Oklahoma vs. Chattanooga Florida vs. Hawaii VA Tech vs. East Carolina Texas Tech vs. East Washington South Florida vs. Tennessee-Martin Illinois vs. Missouri Oregon vs. Washington Auburn vs. Louisiana-Monroe LSU vs. Appalachian State what do you think?
