My son's TCU team his senior year left Soonturds all over the field screaming over their second loss at home under their current X-SEC coach. Go Raiders!:geaux:
Let's not get it twisted, brother. The offense is very good out there. But the stats are ballooned, because the defense sucks. Missou gave up 20+ to Illinois, Buffalo, K-State, Baylor and Iowa State (not counting their shellackings from the top offenses Ok State and Texas) Texas Tech gave up 24 to EASTERN WASHINGTON, 28 to K-State, 31 to Nebraska, and 25 to A&M. OU gave up 26 to Cincinnati, 35 to K-State, 28 to Nebraska, 28 to Texas A&M. The point is that if these powerhouses would lock down and play dominant defense when they weren't playing other top tier offenses, then you could clamor about how good the offense is. But they get slashed by everyone.
I tend to agree more with Clair than Peabody, although it certainly sounds like a chicken and the egg argument.
This may be one of the only times I have ever agreed with clair... :thumb: Gave up 28 to TAMU? Arkansas St gave up 2 TD's fewer to them. Is Josh Freeman and KState one of those Big 12 high powered offenses? I mean seriously...and OU gave up 550 total yards. How many of the top 10 teams in the SEC would yield that many total yards to them? I would bet none. I'm not taking anything away from those QB's but everyone knows that they all play the same style pretty much...Many of the SEC teams line up in the I and run the ball and eat up clock. It will be interesting to see a Big 12 team against one of those SEC teams that line up and run right at you.
I like the way that looks. I am thinking 47-31 TTU for this game. I do believe that a lot of folks underestimate the defenses in the Big 12. A lot of the guys playing D at schools like OU and Texas are the same type of 4 and 5 star players that the SEC gets. They just have to play in space more than typical SEC defenses do.
This is one of the worst seasons I've ever witnessed. Just look at the "hyped game" for each week. They were ALL blowouts if I'm not mistaken. Just a horrible, horrible year for college football. Hopefully UF and OU end up in the title game though, that might be decent. War Damn Eagle
