They pull for Okie-State then they get to watch Texas Tech play Mizzou, but it might give Texas it's best shot at the NC. This is the messiest outcome for the BCS folks to consider. They pull for OU and they have an outside shot at playing for the Big 12 and thus the NC, ultimately. I guess I would pull for OU and pray the voters get it right and vault Texas over OU (from a Texas fan's perspective).
And like us hoping Miles rights our teams woes... I think college football fans are hoping they'll finally right the BCS.
All that stuff is too confusing to me. I couldn't tell you, without reading, who's where, what, when in the Big 10.
This is so confusing. My favorite fb teams are in this order: LSU, OU, TTU, FL, UT. We live in Houston with lots of other LSU fans, but they are out, so everyone is freaking out over the BCS finale. If OU wins and Bama loses to Florida in the SEC title game, who plays in the NC? I think it will be Florida vs OU, but I don't think anyone really knows. I can't stand the thought of Bama in the NC and really don't like Texas all that much. McCoy is good, but Graham Harrell is awesome. :insane:
If Bama loses, they are done. No one will vote for a FL/Bama rematch, if that's what you're getting at. So don't worry about that. It would be Florida vs a Big 12 team. But the question is, which Big 12 team? If OU wins tonite, does OU go ahead of Texas in the BCS, and thus go on to play Mizzou in the Big 12 CG. What if they lose? Then is Texas in or possibly USC, who could win the PAC-10. If OU loses tonite, then Texas Tech goes to the Big 12 CG. What if Texas Tech wins the Big 12 title, don't they deserve to be ahead of Texas, whom they beat? Does USC come into the picture then? If OU loses tonite and Texas Tech loses in the Big 12, does Texas get in over USC, whom could end up as PAC-10 champs if Oregon State loses tonite and USC beats UCLA next week. I don't think so, but maybe some voters believe it. I hope I cleared that up. :hihi:
Yeah, umm, thanks for that. What I don't get is why OU would NOT jump ahead of Texas with a win tonight. How is the 3 way tie broken between OU, TTU and UT? I've heard so many different opinions...
Yes the prevailing opinion is that OU, with a win tonite, would jump Texas in the BCS because of the computer poll bump plus even more voters possibly being swayed to switch their vote to have OU over Texas in their poll. But there might be a change in that regard that the voters make a "correction" just like last season with LSU jumping all the way up in the polls, and say Texas beat OU on a neutral field and deserves to be higher ranked. Voters are certainly aware that their vote this week decides the fate of OU and Texas, should OU win vs Okie State. Personally I want to see OU lose, and Texas Tech win the Big 12 CG, and then watch the shyt hit the proverbial fan.
I would be happy with Texas Tech winning the CG. They've really had a great season. Thanks for the info.
