Yea, the Aggies just had this ridiculous fiasco where the CFO of their Athletic Department was found to be trashing their president on forums. Public apologies and all. One of the things the CFO was talking about just before the situation broke was that the anti-Mike Sherman faction was heavily pursuing Kirby Smart.
Can't say that I blame them. Once aTm got the invite to the SEC, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't following them closer this season and I was pretty much disappointed in their play for most of the season. Their season last year (sans the bowl beat-down we gave 'em) was better than respectible. But to have THAT kind of downfall heading into SEC membership wasn't going to get Sherman a chance to compete in the tougher conference.
