I think the availability of Bowers and the need to have a couple of frosh play right away pushed him out.
I hope we didn't push him out because he all of sudden "wasn't good enough for LSU" but that indeed he was a grades risk
I do believe that happens at LSU too. When jobs are on the line some tough decisions have to be made that I'm sure all coaches hate to make. I can tell you that happened to a good friend in the Cholly Mac days. Broke his heart.
If he's good enough to get a full ride scholarship at an SEC school, he should take it. If not he should carefully consider a gray shirt at LSU and an almost guaranteed scholarship next year.
I think you'd have to define SEC school. I believe he was visiting Kentucky. In that case, an LSU gray shirt doesn't look so bad.
New coach at Uk rather then when porter went there. With stoops there it is a defense team now. It may also be money because doesn't a gray shirt still pay their own way. Why take that when you can get a full ride and still play in the sec.
