“They have a D-lineman right now that we were begging to get when I got here and we lost him to LSU and he is playing second-team fullback,” Dooley said. “That’s just the way it is. They are very deep and talented.

Such a great feeling to know we are THE primer program in the nation.:geaux::crystal::crystal::crystal::wave:

Its almost comical at this point. I remember when Sam Montgomery signed at the end. He would be known by more casual fans if he went elsewhere because he would be the best player on most other teams.

I hope our staff can keep signing these kids. Another testament is the quality of the player we are getting and it's not just about star ratings. Our coaches are finding the most talented kids regardless of star ratings.

Don't get me wrong...star ratings do pan out overall but they're not the end all be all. There are always superstar players to be found in the 2 - 3 star range and we've been able to get sign some of those as well (TM!).

so true, the quality of athlete and young-man we attract is mind boggling. Besides for Perriloux and that LB a couple yrs ago Odom, we havent really attracted too many trouble makers. Like FU & Tennessee

You take a 3 star athlete and put him between two 4 or 5 star athletes and they will shine as well. So in addition to coaching them up, these athletes are competing against the best everyday and giving opponents fits as there are too many heavy weights coming at them.

Furthermore, THEY (TN) have a starting lineman on their team from a little town in LA called "Baton Rouge". I would tell you his name, but I don't remember it. That's just it...a kid right outta Baton Rouge that doesn't go to LSU, but starts for TN? I don't know if we even recruited this kid or not, but clearly he isn't up to LSU standards...yet starts for UT.

go watch copeland's video as a recruit, its unbelievable. I imagine every one was begging him to play on their D-line, including our DL coach Haley. I bet Haley wasn't happy to hear we were putting him at FB, I wasn't either

As for a Dooley quote I did enjoy, they had him on the radio saying how great we are, and how we will humiliate you if you don't bring a fight, and he stressed the word humiliate. Put a smile on my face
