Is this you TerryP? Is the LSU Defense That Formidable? | Tide Corner - al.com Stats can be skewed. Let me show you. He brings up that LSU has only played 1 team in the top 5 passing in the SEC. Why don't we rewind a bit. Before Auburn played LSU, they were 3rd. They dropped to 6th after. Florida went from 5th to 7th. Tennessee went from 6th to 5th after playing Bama. South Carolina? 5th to 4th. So some teams are getting better against the great Bama passing defense, but teams are getting worse against LSU's crappy one. I can make stats look deceiving too. Bama had a great game against VT, who has the 10th best passing offense in the offensive powerhouse ACC.
Very good post, Berge. Stats are only meaningful when used correctly and even then they only tell a small fraction of the story.
Well, he starts his blog saying stats are meaningless, then continues to say that LSU isn't that impressive on defense by listing stats.
He conveniently leaves out the Gators. 12 points per game is 12 points per game whether you sack the QB or not.
I like Terry alot. He's knowledgable as hell. But he's biased when it comes to LSU. Terrry will never be impressed with LSU or Miles. He's made that pretty clear.
statistically, bama's D is a lot better against the run and a little better against the pass (yds/play). turnovers are similar bama kills lsu in sacks and tfl. lsu has faced (sec only) the #1, 4, 7, 10 and 12 rated passing Os. 34/5=6.8 bama---2, 6, 8, 9, 11 36/5=7.2 dont get why he cares how good the passing Os lsu oppts. its not like bama's is very good.
If we get 11 of the W's and only one L (the biggest stats I know of) i'll take dead last in the other ones any day:helmet:
