It has all been reported and there has been outrage. Obviously there is a lot more media in the United States and Europe than Sub-Saharan Africa. And a lot more concern for a NATO member that we might have to go to war with. Also Nigeria is British colonial turf, not ours. It's Nigeria's fight and their failure.
That's espionage, not military action. The CIA has had local assets in place for decades. Covert cells were called up in Pakistan to track bin Ladin's courier.
Really? I didn't see any marches going on....millions in Europe and Paris but nothing in Nigeria. The media here is covering Paris ad nauseum. Nigeria not so much. France isn't our turf. Yes, an ally, an old one but come on....they packed up and went home in many cases where islamists were concerned and we have paid the price, literally and figuratively. Why isn't the fight in Paris the failure of France to more effectively manage immigrants? Those two idiot kouachi brothers were on our no-fly list. Hello, France.....are you there?
You get my point. I'm not advocating a ground war or occupation/invasion. CIA needs to step up it's game but it needs more help from locals and moderate muslims.
The media doesn't get shot in Paris. They go where the story is. Like you say, no one marching by the millions in Nigeria.
The media, for the most part, is currently not showing the cartoons because they claim to want to protect their employees. The media can and did get shot in Paris. For a country that has been experiencing a massive emigration of Jews in 2014, I find their new "united front" to be full of shit.
