I just read that Toliver came very close yesterday to announcing what school he will commit to. He decided not to, instead waiting until national signing day. Im wondering how Miles and staff will handle this announcement? Will they hold a scholarship for him, which may be for not. Or does he have a silent commitment, if so, could he be trusted? I wonder if he may just not be sure which school he wants to attend, so he is waiting to officially commit?
He knows and I'm sure the coaches know. If it isn't us, they won't hold a scholarship. I believe it is us, and if so he will have his scholarship - assuming he qualifies.
Im confident about getting him. It just had me thinking some. I think he has a lot of potential. I doubt he wants to redshirt, but I dont think he gets major PT next year. He has the speed, hands, and moves to be a star. He needs to bulk up though, plus get more concentration. He will be a big time receiver though, look out in about 2 or 3 years.
Toliver will definitely get PT next year, no doubt in my mind. He may even be a starter by the second half of the season.
I think Toliver would be more used how Doucet was this year. With Doucet and LaFell being the actual starters. I could see Toliver getting increased oppertunities though like Doucet did as this past season went on.
I don't know that TT is built to be used the same way Doucet was used this year. Tolliver isn't the "quick-hitter" that doucet is. I see TT being too tall and lanky to catch those quick screens and be able to stay low, dodge the first defender and have enough speed, quickness and leg strength to muscle out yards after the catch. You can have TT as your 3rd best WR and not use your 3rd WR the same way we used Doucet...
That is more what I was getting at, Toliver becoming the 3rd WR. Not taking over Doucets style of catches. I think J Mitchell will be more of the quick hitter type player. I expect him to get early PT. With Tolivers role increasing as the season goes on. LSU is loaded with some talent at WR. We also have C Mitchell and Dixon who were both highly recruited on a national level. Both are 4 star receivers. Then you add Benson and Bajoie to the mix, possibly Toliver. Benson is the player we are all forgetting about that could come in and upstage Toliver. If Doucet works hard on learning how to catch a pass with his hands, not his arms he could be a big NFL prospect IMO. He has all the athleticism you want.
DOG GONNIT YOU!! when I saw the new thread I was hoping you were going to break some good news. :hihi: :thumb:
