I was looking for a place to post this...

I also heard Kiffin may have been busted with a major recruiting violation for simulating a gameday experience (giving guys jerseys, using the stadium sound effects, etc.)

Not sure what all it must have to be illegal but I know they have jersey's for recruits to put on all the time at the weekends.

RR had one on at Bama and took pics with the other recruits in them.

the network has agreed to pay $2.25B for the rights to 15 years of SEC sports broadcasting. That’s about double what Raycom was paying.

ESPN will write a check for $150M in 2009; roughly $12.5M per school. Per year. For 15 years.

But it doesn’t stop there… Not to be outdone, CBS has stepped up its contribution. The Black Rock boys will now pay $55M per annum, for 15 years.

    Anyone have a calculator?

That’s ~$205M per season; roughly $17M per school. It means institutions in 2009 will have an extra $6M per school – about a 50% jump YoY.

The money will translate into better coaches and newer/more expansive facilities. Whatever you think you’ve seen with respect to coaching salaries, check those at the door. SEC schools can’t regulate their enthusiasm - it’s going to get simply outrageous.

Saban can't have that title FOREVER!

But Ed sure made a great AHC and DC and that's what counts.

What would the numbers have been if USC had added up Pete Carroll's numbers in the NFL before hiring him? Or Lane Kiffin for that matter?

Yes, because nobody hires family in the South.

    That's good......

Lane isn't for everyone but he doesn't mince words and he's definitely got an ego. Seems he'll need it.

Too long. Probably wouldn't read again anyways. Probably some notes defending former USC coaches.

Washington was busted with this as well. It's one of those rules nobody knew was there until action is taken.

Alot is being made of all that Kiffin has done. He can shut everyone up by showing up and winning from day one. If he fails at Tennessee, the above article will be extremely tame compared to what we will begin to see.
