Re: Tebow Status. Remember, on track to play and on track to start are two different things. He is still not cleared to play in the game, just cleared for practice, and the longer that takes the likely hood of him starting are not realistic, even if he gets fully cleared. He is being looked at daily by some of the best medical folks in the country from Shands and they will ultimately make the call. No kids health is worth the risk and no one game is more important than a kids future. Personally I don't even want him to suit up unless he is 100% whether he starts or not. The coaches have stayed out of this part and I believe they will remain removed from the decision. Like I said before this is not a sore ankle or a bruised shoulder, it's a closed head injury and nothing to mess around with. The media is always going to play the drama card, even ESPN, although they tend not to do it quite as much as some of the others. Either way we will put our best on the field and it will be a great game. I have read other posts about possible excuses. Well...you want get any from me....either way. The one thing I do hope is that the officials stay out of it and call a clean game and let the kids play and settle it on the field just like we did back in 2007. Of course I hope the outcome is a little different from our last match-up in Tiger Stadium. The one thing I think the media needs to spend a little more time on is maybe the fact that the team that wins this game has won the last THREE National Championships. That cannot be debated by anybody or any media outlet.
Re: Tebow Status. Classy post and I agree 100%. :thumb: You know, you and FightinGator are making it tough for me to pull against the Gators. All kidding aside you are die hard Gator fans and have represented your school with class.
Re: Tebow Status. Who cares what we'll hear coming from news pimps. This involves this kid's future. Besides look up some of Brantley's film. With the talent they have around him plus the fact that they will be playing out of their minds "for Tim", what makes you think they won't win anyway? This guy isn't Tebow but he is darn talented and if we beat them with him it will be a legit win.
Re: Tebow Status. I agree with this 100%, Class act Gator. There isnt a doc out there that would OK Tebow to play IMO at Tiger statium two weeks after what happened to him. He may suit up for the media and psycological reasons but he aint playing! The risk is too great. I just hope for a good game and a Tiger victory!:geaux:
Re: Tebow Status. Abso-freaking-lutely, this scenario worries me more than any other. We are in for a big surprise if we get the "we got this if TT doesn't play" attitude.
Re: Tebow Status. tiger and tirk, I have no idea why it has me down as joined since Aug 2009. I assure you I have been following tiger forums for years. I remember about 3 years ago I had to signup to continue following the forum. Most of the time I didn't have to have a username to keep up with whats going on. Overall this has been my favorite forum. I have always enjoyed istl's bcs breakdowns during our bcs championship runs. I still interpret Schad's report from a medical source ("Tebow is on track to play at LSU") as cleared to play, and wouldn't be surprised at all to see him. All I can do is tell you to judge my posts on their future merits. They will need our best this weekend to help them meet this challenge. Geaux Tigers!! PLAY for Victory!!! :milesmic:
Re: Tebow Status. I'm not sure the Gators wouldn't be more dangerous with out Tebow for this particular scenario. If Tebow plays the UF coaching staff will almost certainly devise their gameplan with Tebow's injury in mind and try to limit the hits he takes. Tebow's greatest weapon is his ability to run. With out that, the Gators might be better off with Brantley in the game. Hopefully, if Brantley plays, he will be shaken by the crowd and the Tiger defense.
Re: Tebow Status. Maybe that means he will stand at the sidelines and "play" pocket-pool. Don't get so worked up over semantics, dude. Tirk lives on effin with people that take shtuff to seriously. Later Tirk.
