I assume that you are talking about Malouf or Jansen? I don't know of them going after anyone else. Mustain is a Vol apparently...

Learn me something if I dont know...

I thought you were in the know about all things bama. Shula is now hot after a QB who has already commited to Texas Tech, your Cotton Bowl opponent. Seems a little on the shady side to me but I know bama wouldn't do anything that wasn't classy:dis:

JMHO, but I think Mustain stays with the fat piggies rather than going with Phat Phil.

I think Bama should try and recruit Joe Willie out of retirement to come play for them.

They could change his name to Billy Joe Don Roger Bubba Gooberson. Alter his transcript without Phat Phil knowing and claim he had a problem graduating High School for 40 years.

The only problem as i see it would be having him sober for gamedays and keeping him on the field and not chasing the cheerleaders between plays.

    :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

McElroy is the kids name. And, the staff has been in contact with him for a long time now...and remained in contact with him before and after the Tebow decision. In fact, Greg camped at Bama over the summer this year so he's hardly *new on the scene.*

Here's a recent statement from McElroy about Alabama, Tx Tech, etc.

All that being said, I'm in the camp that thinks we don't need to sign a QB this year. Tebow, was a talent we should have pursued because of the tremendous potential he has...but we'll come into the fall with 4 deep in our QB rotation.

Terry.....I have no doubt about that. I was just poking at Red Elephant and his claim to know all about what was going on.

What do you think about the rumor that Rader may be gone after the bowl?

Red deserved a little dig at him after his "silent verbal" statement. You know, I'd have a hard time picking Bama over Florida if I were in his shoes. Heck, when I talked with a few from his church his parents have his house decked out in Florida garb...all the way down to the shower curtain in Tim's bathroom. He was a long shot, at best...but I'm pleased with the manner in which he described his relationship with Shula. It's about like I said several weeks ago...it reminded me a lot of Brodie and his recruitment with FSU.

    As to Rader...

A few points. Rice's President said they wanted a coach who understood and could handle a mixture between athletics and academics. That mold, fits Rader perfectly. The report first came out in OK City from a local TV station who said his name was "in the hat." Rader made a comment about the article last week and said he hasn't been in contact with the officials at Rice as of yet. (that probably means he's already signed a contract ala fRan :hihi: )

I think he'd be a good fit for Rice. He had some fairly good years with Tulsa and some *not so good years.* When he joined Shula a lot of that move from private business was due to the relationship he had with Shula from his former stint at Bama along with the relationship he had with Kines. It was just a good fit.

Whether he goes to Rice or not? I don't know. I've suspected he'd retire before he would take a HC job again...but once that coaching bug bites a guy it's hard to walk away from it, ya know?

I can say this...Rader is a man of very strong character. If he does move on we'll be losing someone I have a lot of respect for. If it does happen it wouldn't surprise me to see Woods move to the OC position and Bama to bring in a RB coach. Bobby Humphrey's name was circulated quite a bit a few years ago...I think he's still coaching in arena football...but not 100% sure on that.

He was fired after last season. The team had taken a downturn this past season.

Here's the thing... many LSU fans were like "oh cool.. another good quarterback is coming to LSU"

LSU really DIDNT need him.. it was just a added bonus.

Again, LSU wasnt really trying to recruit a QB, he just happened to fall in LSU's lap.

I know that you didn't need him...It was more of the talk about how good he was and then the same people said that he "wasn't really good as advertised". My bad, that was really my main focus on my earlier post.
