I guess Bama people will now say they paid him off and acuse Florida of illegal recruiting.

No one could ever choose another school over Bama. !!!

Tebow will be a good fit for Florida and Urban Meyer System.

Also with Smelley going to South Carolina. I am sure the State is in meltdown . All except for the Barners who are loving it.

I'm not shocked that he's a Gator either. I mean, c'mon...He grew up in UF's backyard for crying out load.

I agree that Meyer's offense didn't work at all this season...chances are high that it won't work all that great next year either. But if there's a "type" of QB needed to make this work, Tebow was/is the guy to do it. The problem is that the defensive speed in the SEC is head-and-shoulders better than any other conference that Meyer has ever been in...

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a "meltdown". We still have a top 10 class without him. I'm not going to be one of the ones to say that we're better off without him, because he's a dandy of a QB. Fact is we have 1 very talented QB and 2 good ones already.

Jimmy Johns played a little RB this year because he wasn't going to take Brodie's spot. Now that Brodie is going to be gone, Johns can show them what he can do (he's a scrambling Vick-type...bigger, not as fast though, but with a cannon). I think/hope that he gets the nod next year.

Also, Jimmy Barnes from Cali redshirted this year so he will have plenty of years left to learn and get better.

If I remember right, you guys were all about Cate (correct me if this is the wrong player) coming to LSU with a verbal commit but when he withdrew it, a lot of you people had the same line "we're better off without him" and "he wasn't as good as advertised". BS the tables have turned now and you're acting as if you never said any of that. Get real.

I just hope that he starts next year. Like I said in another thread. When we see him in the Swamp next year, Greenwood and Gillberry aren't going to be so nice this time LOL...He's going to be picking grass out of his teeth! :)

Well, what we said was that we don't need a QB commit this class, not that we didn't need Cate. We all still wanted Cate, but with 3 highly recruited QBs in front of him we saw that a top QB was not a necessity for this signing class.

My my, aren't we a bit testy? Fact of the matter remains that whether any one on this board said said that or not, it does not matter. LSU didn't really need a QB and everyone knew it. IF we signed one, that was just great but not necessary. Bama, IMO and other's it appears, NEEDED a great QB. LSU did not have a meltdown about the depature of Cate, Tebow going to Florida has sent a massive shockwave through the Bama nation that will be remembered for a while. I would not go so far as to call John Parker Wilson great and who are the other two good ones that you speak of? Jimmy Johns? Wasn't there a reason for his move from the QB position? And no the one play to stick one to S Croom didn't mean much. Maybe they will move him back, maybe not.

Give me the link the website that has Bama as a top ten recruiting class and I don't mean in the SEC.

Massive shockwave? C'mon you're acting like this is the first time and Bama is the only school that this has ever happened to. This happens in recruiting--every year--to lots of teams. Its funny that you think this will damage Alabama Football.

As far as JPW being great...I didn't say that at all.
Very talented=Jimmy Johns....Good=JPW and Jimmy Barnes

Jimmy Johns was moved to RB this year because he can flat out run and he is too good of an athlete to sit on the bench. He wanted to play asap, and the coaching staff found a place for him at RB. I still think that he is our best QB. We are already loaded at RB with Darby, Coffee, Upchurch, and Ford.

We will be ok...It happens every year. You win recruits, and you lose recruits. Hey, we are 9-2 this year even with the recent sanctions and everything. We're doing ok and its only getting better :thumb:

    BTW, here's your list...

The thing is most bammers don't have a clue what is going on with their own team. Shula recognizes that to be competetive in the SEC he has to change his offensive strategy. Defense is still important but that's nort where you start these days. It's all about the offense and bama was woeful this past season. Shula recognizes the need to go to a multiple threat offense and he doesn't have the QB to do that. That's why he wanted Tebow so bad. Without a multiple threat QB, bama is doomed to winning close games, relying on their defense to win games for them.

Here we go...:dis: What Bammer are you referring to here? I hope that you're not talking about me. I know what's going on with my team. YOU are a little un-educated on Alabama football as I can tell with what I quoted you on.

    Hmmm...Multiple-threat QB.
You know I am no rocket-scientist, but those are pretty good multiple-threat QB numbers to me...
