LSU passes for 235 yards a game and rushes for 220. This is a truly balanced offense and any defense that just stacks the box is going to get beaten.

Have you noticed just how successful LSU has been running out of the "I"? It's a running formation and LSU just lines up in it and dares the defense to stop it. Few have.

Crowton never had the kind of running backs at BYU and La Tech that he has at LSU. He would be a fool not to use them and he is NOT a fool. He had decent backs with the Chicago Bears and he used them there. I see no "Big 10 philosophy" in establishing a running game. The SEC was a running league using the I formation for decades before Spurrier opened things up. There is nothing more frustrating to a losing team than seeing LSU methodically run the ball down the field using up time (ask Florida). They can't score if they can't get the ball back.

The stat is more like 80%. And we do deviate from them 20% of the time, often catching the defense by surprise. And when we don't deviate and just run the ball out of the "I" as expected. . . we average 5.1 yards a carry!

A team that can throw the ball out of the spread AND run it effectively out of the "I" is very hard to beat. LSU is such a team.

If the QB only had 14 Touchdowns and 10 Interceptions would you be scared? I wouldn't and can't blame them John SaraParker Wilson has that many TDs and only 8 int. However let them not respect it and get burned by a "Bowe" Screen to Early who is healthy now or the deep ball to Byrd or T.Tolliver and don't forget the short drag across the middle to B.Lafell which is always open. So let teams stack the box they'll find out..oh yeah I forgot that wont help either with Hester, KW, Scott,Murphy and Holiday at RB:wave: :geaux:

to be fair, it should be mentioned that Oregon's O has turned the corner after crowton left. its a superficial point, but still noteworthy.
