Definitely a team loss. Too many missed opportunities. The bad offense speaks for itself; I don't understand the bad defensive play today. Sure, blown coverages can and will happen -- I thought LSU's D was supposedly better against a Mallett-type QB. :geauxtige
Good call, Berge. It was total team let down. Lets just all hope they get their act together and bounce back with a strong bowl win and not go into a funk like we did last year. Man I really hate to see this season end on a downer like this! But I am hopeful we can still make it to 11-2 and end this incredible season on a high note.
Okay, here's a huge misconception that we have. This defense is NOT GREAT! It's above average. LSU has had about 9 meaningful games. Take out McNeese, ULM, and Vandy. 5 of those games this defense gave up more than 400 yards of offense. If you want to attribute some of the defensive struggles on the bad offense, go ahead. I will argue tooth and nail that 10 wins was a great accomplishment for THIS team (with this schedule).
Nevis is the only impact DL LSU has at this time. Some of the youngsters may be later but not now. The DL was pushed around the entire 2nd half.
I am extremely disappointed at not getting to 11-1 and, most likely, a BCS bowl game. But 10-2 is better than I expected. It has been a decent year. We've got to finish strong and win the bowl game this year, though.
