The Govt. should be able to provide for those that have paid into SS, the others can opt out and/or get their money back. The really sad part about SS is you will never get what you put into the system. Just another Govt. tax. Most of the people I see on SS aren't old people but people milking the system so we need to also weed out those.

As far as defense goes spending doesn't equate to safe. You could spend 1M on a security system at your house and I could buy a $200 gun. Our Military is no different and should be fast and efficient. Currently it's slow and fat and stretched out to every end of the Earth. I'd close probably 75% of the bases we have around the world and do a 360 flip of our current foreign policy that is a piece of junk and keeps us meddling in other govt affairs which leads to blow-back.

The roads I would turn over to the states or private business.

The point is the Federal Govt is just a big lazy pig sucking on mama's tit all day. It's time we fried the bacon.

Social Security isn't a pension. It depends on those currently contributing to pay those receiving benefits. Your idea won't work.

Nope. Most recipients make out like a bandit unless they die young.

Most of the people on SS are old people. You aren;t paying attention.

Where has that ever worked? Private roads? :insane:

Works pretty well in Texas and Florida. Illinois is also considering selling some of its toll roads.

SS is a ponzi scheme, that never worked either.

Nobody makes out like a bandit. They are giving you back your money and rarely more than you put in, consider dollar devaluation.

Most old people I know get SS, yes. Most people I know people I know that get SS, live on SS only, and are not old.

Private roads, private police, private firefighters. I'm for private everything. The govt. couldn't run a carousel at Fun Fair Park if they tried.

Do you live in a home for disabled people?

It's astonishing how little you understand about social security.

How do they do this? What world do you live in? You have to be disabled or over 62 to draw social security.

And wow great rebuttal. You will NEVER get what you put into SS. [/QUOTE]Bullchit. You just make up stuff. :insane:

People pay 6.3 percent of income into SS. For those at the upper end (making $106,800 or more) that amounts to $6,622 a year.

The average amount of SS benefits amounts to $13,698.
The maximuM amount of SS benefits amounts to $28,152.

How does NOT taking more money from rich people actually add to the debt?

Oh you mean because they didn't tax them more, they still kept feeding wasteful government programs and over spend what money they do have. GOT IT!!!

Tax cuts that come without identified expense cuts have to be paid for with borrowed money and add to the debt. It's why Bush added $5 Trillion to the debt and it will continue for another two years apparently. He irresponsibly cut income without identifying expense cuts.

You ask me a question and then answer it for me? :insane:
