Just came across the Jimmy Graham interview on ESPN today. Quite an amazing and moving personal story. Below is the link to the video on ESPN titled " Jimmy Graham's unlikely path". Dood is just plain sick and damn near unstoppable, betcha momma is regretting her decision now. Of all the players in the league, I hope he sets records and takes home the bank.
I jumped on da Ginga Ninja bandwagon toward the end of last season. He's been one of my favorites (of course) so far this year too. But that was just based on what I see on the field. I started hearing rumblings about his personal story a few weeks ago and now see this. I truly hope he has a long, productive, injury-free, Hall of Fame career exclusively in the Black and Gold. But if he eventually moves on, I'll still be one of his biggest fans (at least in weeks where he's not playing the Saints).
He owes his adoptive mother everything. His biological mother sounds like scum and the best thing he could probably do is stay away from her, if everything in the story is factual. The real hero is the woman who took him in, not Graham, although he certainly made the most of his opportunities. I hope he repays that woman for taking him in.
The adversity he overcame to become what he is alone makes him a hero. He could've given up on life with the hand he was dealt, but he succeeded and no one did it for him. True success imo.
