Texas shouldn't have gotten a 'second' chance - CFB News - FOX Sports on MSN So the SEC is not the only league with the "refs trying to keep the big guns undefeated" theorists. Not sure I want to see TCU in the NC, simply because Texas has a better chance of beating Bama, wouldnt they? Im not convinced TCU is for real, so would tend to think a traditional power is less likely to lay an egg.
:geaux: Depth (lack thereof) would have killed them (TCU) during a season long battle against teams in an SEC or Big 12 Conference schedule, IMO. Schedules like that week after week beats your team up and wears you down, see LSU this year at RB for example. Avoiding injuries is critical and 'Bama did that this year, just like LSU did in '07. But agree that anything can happen in one game showdown. See Utah last year and Boise ST. against Oklahoma a few years ago as just a couple of obvious examples. On any given day........ :LSU231:
At this point your not really talking about TCU, or Texas, or anyone else. I loath the BCS system, if Bama wins it all , I loath the BCS system, with every fiber of my being. The universities, including all of ours, continue to make all this frustration possible. It is what it is, Cincy has an argument over TCU. Either way I don't care about non BCS teams, and very little about the big East. Why does the Big 11, and Pac 10, and Big Least get a free pass to the big dance, when everyone else is beating their brains out in their championship game. TCU, Cincy, Boise St. don't even have to deal with an extra game. Man, its a miracle the SEC keeps sending teams to the NC games. If you hold Texas to the same standard TCU, they don't play in that game to start with. TCU is at home eating popcorn. Who's worthy? It is what it is.
I was'nt convinced Utah was for real last year until they spanked Bama. I think we all anticipated that Utah would lay an egg. Not a huge fan of the common opponents theory as a measuring stick but there is not much else to go by. Texas defeated Wyoming 41-10 in a game they led 13-10 at the half. TCU defeated Wyoming 45-10 in a game they led 24-10 at the half. I know Colt McCoy is tauted as a Heisman hopeful but check out the QB rating... Dalton #4 159.6 McCoy #18 147.5
Do you think they have as many NFL draft players as FL, Bama, or LSU? The mock draft I looked at had one TCU player going in the first 3 rounds.
I will pay attention to TCU when they get out of their conference and join a real one where they play ranked opponents year in and year out. Until then, they aren't my concern, and do not deserve to play for:crystal:
