Thanks Fish, I missed that link. Here's the quote talking about the multiple sets- "best way to classify TCU's offense is as a "spread multiple" offense. Meaning that we use the basic principles of the spread to get guys in space but we employ a multitude of formations such as the pistol, two-back sets, no-back sets, I-formation, and even a little wild-frog."
Let me put the spread in terms of what would happen with LSU. Russell Shepard would be the Russell Shepard we had hoped he would be. We'll jam it down your throat with the running game, and the opportune times we choose to pass the ball you won't know where it's coming from and what to defend. Good luck and phuck you.
Miles couldn't do that with Crowton, what makes you expect it would happen with a guy young enough to be his son?
His recruiting area at TCU is Oklahoma, North Louisiana and Kansas. He does not have any areas in Texas he is responsible for. Would have to get him to try to recruit the Dallas-DFW area as well, since the Oklahoma and Kansas areas don't have a lot of talent (four 4 star players between the 2 states, Louisiana has 15 as a comparison this year).
I was talkin Daisey, ya don't think she'd be a good fit. lol Really though the longer this takes it almost makes me think Miles is either going for an NFL OC that's in the playoffs, or it is just a show to make it appear as though the decision wasn't made before GC resigned.
Actually, dude, most coordinators DON'T hit the recruiting trail until a guy has been recognized by one of the coaches. They'll recruit--especially if they really want someone, but no, dude, they aren't recruiting like your position coaches do. Head coaches and OC/DC's aren't hitting the recruiting trail midweek the way their position coaches do. They'll do it when they have to, but the usually aren't the front-line recruiting coach for a particular player.
That's like saying Miles doesn't recruit. They ALL recruit and the best ones get classes like we get.
When did I say NEVER? I didn't. I specifically stated that most of the time, it's the assistant coaches/position coaches that do most of the recruiting. Again, I'm good friends with one of Pelini's Ohio St teammates. HE's the one that told me that Bo didn't like recruiting--didn't like always being on the road--and was happy that as a DC, he didn't have to do it as much. He would. Just not as much.
