That's the thing our republican supporting friends here refuse to acknowledge. You ain't gonna balance the budget unless you do some meaningful, painful cuts that actually might make the economy worse, if you don't address tax reform or raise taxes. And I'm not talking about the popular tax cutting route. I'm talking about tax changes like the debt commision talked about. Eliminating huge amounts of deductions, and lowering the corporate income tax. Good for the economy, but painful as hell to the middle and upper income folks.
im for cutting the dod in half. im for means-testing SS. but i doubt you want to do away with the doe, they control the nukes. and if you "let private markets work" then the lower class get chewed up and spit out. id prefer socialism to pure capitalism.
I say anyone who pays into SS gets what they are promised, but you should be able to opt out. Education, not energy. That is nonsense. I'm not talking about returning to the days of the robber barons. Socialism better than capitalism... you have got to be kidding me.
Sadly he is not:rolleye33: You are right about the DOE, what a waste of time and money. Good post though. Too bad we are a long way from seeing it happen if ever.
