In the 4th game of the Rays-Bosox series, I was pulling for your bitches so the Yanks could pick up a game. They scored one run against the Yankees in 2 games. Not many teams have been shut down by the Yank's pitching staff lately.
Boston reclaims 1st place, and lose Julio Lugo for 4-6 weeks. I've never gotten this much good news!!
no kidding. how does Lugo have a world series ring and Biggio and Bagwell don't? P.s. No smartass comments allowed from yankee fans.:hihi: oh. one of my classmates from high school is going see the red sox play the yankees in fenway this month. he told me one of his kids has a dog named fenway and when he goes do #2...he says, "go leave a yankee"
better question. How does Lugo still have a job? His defense SUCKS, but he makes up for with a sh!tty Batting average, low on base percentage, zero power, not many RBI's, and an arseload of inning ending double plays. I'm quite confident I could lead the AL in errors (at SS) and have a team low Batting Average with runners in scoring position. I'd do it a lot cheaper than him too. Hell, I might even get lucky and find 22 RBI in 82 games.
Tampa with the best record in baseball once again. They own the Angels. Rays could end up with home field advantage throughout, and they have the best record in baseball at home (47-18). Perfect combination of 5 solid starters, 5 solid relievers, great defense (best in baseball perhaps) and timely hitting with a decent mix of power and speed (especially when Crawford returns). The key to this team's success is Carlos Pena. He appears to be back to his 2007 form, when he banged out 46 homers. Since July 25 (covering 26 games), he has 11 homers and 25 RBIs. Longoria will be back just after the first of September. Aybar has done a bang-up job in his absence. Crawford should be back the last week of September.
Actually it was the catcher. Zobrist threw a ball to the plate from left field that had the runner out but the catcher could not handle it. It would have ended the game in the 9th, giving the Rays a very impressive sweep of the White Sox on the road. Wheeler would have been 9 for 9 in saves as well in Percival's absence. Very impressive.
