FSU recruits are decommitting and they want Fisher to make up his mind now.... http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...r-urged-make-decision-florida-state-seminoles
things are moving fast,.. Oregon Ducks offer Willie Taggart new contract as Florida State reportedly takes interest ://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2017/11/oregon_offers_willie_taggart_n.html#incart_2box The contract extension, which a source confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive would be worth just more than $20 million over the next five years, would represent a raise for Taggart that would put him among the country's top 25 highest-paid coaches after going 7-5 in his first season at UO. Florida State has begun looking into the backgrounds of several potential coaching candidates, including Taggart, in case head coach Jimbo Fisher leaves for Texas A&M, according to a report Tuesday night from USA Today. Should Taggart bolt for Tallahassee as Fisher's successor, Oregon has begun preparing itself for a second coaching search in as many years by looking into candidates currently coaching in Power Five conferences, according to a report Wednesday by FootballScoop.
Many of us wanted Jimbo. There’s no point trying to revise history, but the guy strikes me as a bit of a weasel. Kind of the guy who is always ‘ I’ll pay ya back later, thanks.’ Something greasy about him.
Interesting angle,.. Canzano: What you need to know on the Willie Taggart-Jimbo Fisher front http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/or...what_you_need_to_know.html#incart_river_index Willie Taggart, Jimbo Fisher, (and Saban) have the same agent, Jimmy Sexton. Sexton has a reputation of being a powerful, shrewd, hard-nosed negotiator who will work every angle on behalf of his clients. It's why many at FSU aren't convinced that Fisher is going to leave. LSU thought it had Fisher twice in recent years, and he leveraged that, and then returned to Tallahassee. Now, Texas A&M may have him... or not. If you were a coach, you'd hire Sexton to represent you. If you're a university, you cringe at his tactics. Oregon is learning more about how Sexton plays this week.
Again makes me wonder what is it we dont know about FSU? Why would jimbo want out of a program that looks like it was/is near the top of the heap? My thinking is either facilities are crap, he has pissed off to many people and wants to start over, or NCAA will be slapping some sanctions on them sooner than later. Also sexton is a slime ball agent that will string along anyone to get more cash in his client/his pockets.
every year he uses this tactic to get his assistants more money or to force them to commit to upgraded facilities... i think this is the case...
School of hard knocks... Maybe whenever Sexton retires, he can teach a class... Hard Knocks 101 Decades ago, I sold cars for the summers during the years I went to college and remember being told by a very successful salesman, one the closers I worked with, that I'd learn a lot from my university teachers which he would never know, but that he'd teach me a lot which those university teachers would never know. He was right. He also said that once I thought I knew more than him about how to sell a car, I'd stop making money and he was right about that too.
