Van Horn has Arkansas back on college baseball’s grandest stage for the first time since 2004. Losses to Georgia and Arizona that season sent Van Horn’s team packing and had him bristling at the Razorbacks’ final press conference.
Question: “Do you have any explanation why you are 0 and 6 at the College World Series?
Van Horn: “The other team outscored us six times. You ask a dumb question, you get a dumb answer.’’
Van Horn’s first two trips to the CWS as a coach came with Nebraska.

From the Arizona Republic – ASU 1969 Championship Team Reunion in Omaha

Arizona State honored its 1969 national championship baseball team April 11 at Packard Stadium, not knowing if the celebration would continue in Omaha.
The '69 Sun Devils planned a 40th anniversary reunion at the College World Series all along and could only hope that the current Sun Devils would be in the field.
That is assured now so the third of ASU's five national champions, including Coach Bobby Winkles, will be at Rosenblatt Stadium to cheer on the pursuit for title No. 6.

Augie Garrido doesn't live in Omaha, but it sure seemed that way for a while.

The old coach has been here a few times. Garrido won three national titles long before he donned his No. 16 Longhorns uniform. The upcoming CWS will be No. 13 for Augie, and when you spend that many summers in one town, you become accustomed to the landscape.

He'll be pulling plenty of tour-guide duty over the next two weeks for his team of Omaha pups. No Longhorn on the active roster has played in a CWS and only one — senior Preston Clark — was on campus for the 2005 title run. Clark redshirted that season and didn't make the trip.
