They had a DJ, later in the day a live band on stage (David St Romain), a tractor-trailer full of kegs (Bud Select), huge pots of gumbo & jambalaya. I imagine there were around 3,000 people there at the height of the festivities. A 20 spot was reasonable.
Dude - I was at that party, and I saw what those guys went through to get the game up on the screen. If you recall, the weather and wind whipped up about 30 minutes before the game started and it killed their satellite signal. They had a police escort to Lowe's to do what they did to get the game on. I understand about being pissed about how that turned out, but I can assure you no one was more pissed than them. They all had tickets to the game, and they were all running cables and trying every friggin thing possible to get the game up instead of sitting in the stadium. Besides, if you were at the party, you know that you had unlimited beer, food and a conference with David St. Romain prior to the game, so the $20 was chump change based on what you got. Time to let that go.
First of all stop blaming HATT. That party was thrown by some current and former members but was not an actual HATT event. That group was never mentioned on the website or at the event. Hold no grudge against HATT for the TV troubles. Even without the game on the screen, I don't think you'll find unlimited beer, food, and David St. Romain on stage all within a block of the dome on gameday for $20.
I wasn't concerned about 20 bucks. When you bleed purple & gold and your beloved Tigers are playing for the national title you tend to be irrational when the freakin TV won't come on.
Whatever, they simply should have had the TV and satellite set-up running properly ahead of time before sending a few hundred people scampering into the streets and missing half the game. They ruined a special event for quite a few people. Ron McDaniel set it up, it was a HATT event. Everyone involved was HATT, it wasn't HATT branded due to the extra sponsors. I'm not sure what your hang-up is over 20 bucks, it wasn't a money thing.
if its a satellite dish and there is bad weather causing a lost signal, there is nothing you can do. happens like .01% of the time. bad luck if so.
"They" didn't "ruin" anything for you. you paid 20$ to enjoy the fesitivites all day long. The planning that went into this party was weeks of long days and nights. As of the day before, all was up and running with "everything in their control". The wind had alot to do with the lack of signal, amongst other things. They sat in the parking lot missing half the game attempting to fix the issues. It was not a HATT event, PERIOD. Had nothing to do with sponsors, wrong again. You say that you partied with HATT in Atlanta, but then say you'll never attend another hatt event. A> it was not a hatt event, and b> ron throws the best parties. So don't spout your stupidity a year later because you were really just pissed that you didnt have a ticket to the game. you obviously know they throw good parties, some of the best. So to say you wont be at another Hatt (or Ron) event really is YOUR loss, not theirs. Calling Ron McDaniel out on the internet for something that happened a year later is just stupid. You have no idea what went into that party, the responsibility for haivng an event like that, nor what the TRUE circumstances were that prevented the game from coming up on the screen. It has been a year later. How do you think he felt about this? I'm sure Ron would be more than happy to refund your money to you, even a year after the fact.
Think he said he paid mainly to watch the game, as was the cause for the gathering so I see how his special event could have been ruined. Who? "Hatt" people? That would corraborate what he said. Send me the dam twenty bucks so we can get the money thing out of the way. :hihi:
