I agree but tourists are suckers for this place. I usually just get raw oysters if I go but I do love the Rockerfeller Soup.
if youre making the trip with a woman, consider either coming up river road (as red said) from new orleans to visit some of the many plantations, or head up to st. francisville (30 min N of BR) to see Oakley Plantation.
Roul's burgers are awesome. Large homemade burger topped with grilled shrimp and grilled chicken. However for burger alone, i think Akasha market takes the blue ribbon for best burgers in Baton Rouge :thumb:
Game day is an all day experience but if you are coming over a few days the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino is the one I think you are referring to. The Sheraton is the hotel there. Perfect place because it isn't far from campus and is close to the downtown attractions. Of course there is the Casino but within walking distance is the USS Kidd WWII Destroyer and Museum, The Louisiana Arts and Science Center and Planetarium and the Old State Capital built in the 1800's. On campus there is an open container policy...don't spill it.
You mean "Cory's" right? :thumb: Also, for fresh seafood, my vote goes to Hello Sushi (spitten distance from campus).
First I'd like to thank you for starting this thread, We just got a motor home, and a saturday night in Baton Rouge is definitely on the list. Unfortunately it won't be this yr. Things are tough, up here around Detroit. I'll be retiring in a couple yrs and we plan to go full time. Second I'm sorry I don't have anything to add. I've never been there. However, please except my thanks, :thumb:everyone, in lieu of any useful info on my part. You folks have always made me welcome around here and I'm sure it will be the same on that future game day. You can be sure we'll have some of our specialties to share out. We can't wait to try some of yours. I'll be the guy with the lighted block M in the window of the RV, and maybe a block M flag...well, that might be overkill.:yelwink2: BHD
