Yes, the tables are turning, but they are turning in favor of LSU. Yes, OSU has been underrated all year, has been disrespected all year, and yes, the chances are that they will be playing with a great fury and will come out strong in the Superdome. But your average LSU fan probably would not have have realized that on his own. Earlier this month, the average LSU fan thought that OSU sucked and that LSU would blow them out. If LSU fans went into the Superdome with this attitude, they would be stunned if Ohio State came out strong, and a stunned LSU home crowd is not good for LSU. However, thanks to the media (and the results of some of the big bowl games this year), now your average LSU fan finally realizes the reality that OSU is indeed the #1 team, that they have a huge chip on their shoulder, and that the chances are that they will be playing with a great fury and will come out strong in the Superdome. Now that LSU fans expect it, they won't be stunned if Ohio State comes out strong in the Superdome, which is good for LSU.
I consider myself an average LSU fan and at any point I've tought that OSU sucked...I think most of us here don't believe that....It seems hard to think that a 1 loss teams sucks (except Hawaii)...What I would say that most of us believe here is that LSU is a better team, which does not necessarilly means that OSU sucks. That "thanks to the media" comment is just way off...If you haven't noticed, most of us here don't care about what the media says, especially after the Herbie fiasco...I'm sorry but I think that your opinion is way out of the left field.:huh:

To me, I think it DOES help the team mentally to handle the expected fury from Ohio St. That helps to counter the false sense of security the earlier polls give to the LSU team. That's BIG.
I should have thought about my post more carefully before I posted it. I didn't mean to imply that anybody was a mindless drone that blindly believes whatever "the media" tells them to believe. In fact, I honestly believe that general opinion influences "the media" more than "the media" influences general opinion (the media is all about ratings). In other words, I honestly believe that the current shift in general opinion regarding OSU's chances of winning this game is just being reflected by "the media" -- not the other way around.
i just have a problem believing what i'm reading on this board and others regarding osu's motivation. invariably at some point in the discussion an osu poster ot big 10 apologist will cry out, "we're disrespected!" "we don't get any respect" "no one respects us" et al is this the sole motivation because it is literally all i see. i have trouble believing that deep in the 4th quarter after being pummeled and bruised and beaten that somehow osu will dig deeper because it has been seemingly "disrespected". to think so and to state so is really a desire to somehow credit the vest for having the superior intellect for coming up with a winnning formula and to besmirch the LSU Fighting Tigers and their coach Les Miles. jmho. :geauxtige
