This is true. It sucks because the passing game hasn't changed. You still see 2 receiver routes for the most part, sometimes 3, most of the routes are on the sideline. When is the last time Etling completed a mid range pass in the middle of the field? For that matter when is the last time and LSU qb did that? Mettenberger? And he had probably the greatest duo of receivers in the history of the game. They made plays and made him look a lot better than he was. We don't have those guys that go get balls, Chark does every now and then. It looks like the only real change to the offense has been motion and shifts. Something has to give and I'll be disappointed if LSU doesn't use these next 2 games to find an identity in the passing game.
But recognize that the guys we have were from the 3 yards and a cloud of dust crew. So time has to be allowed for recruitment and development.
