I was being cynical at the extent you will go to defend an obvious inequity. WTF is the "original top six" and why is it relevant? Trying to lump Arkansas and A&M in with east cupcakes Kentucky and Vanderbilt not simple logic, it is simple deceit. The status quo has everything to do with Bama and preserving a "tradition" that should have nothing to do with fair scheduling in a new 14-team league. You haven't proven this. Do you think our loss to ranked Florida in five of the last ten games hurt us more than your three losses against Tennessee?
And would explain why Alabama fans aren't complaining about it in the year 2013. We had our chance, we'll get em next time.
Missouri to the West, Vandy I guess to the West (looking at a map they look closest). Auburn and Bama to the East. Bama gets all their conference rivalry shit every year, the map looks more like East/West and we get a super conference championship between Bama and LSU pretty much every year where it will actually mean something rather than 2011 where meeting up didn't mean shit.
To gumps, The concepts of equity and equality are as foreign as indoor plumbing and dating outside first cousins.
2006 loss to Fla. We beat Ark, who played a bama eastern schedule and went to the SECCG. Already said earlier, read the thread, Forrest
Let me sum up Bama fans and the scheduling take in a nutshell: 1) BAMA GETS WHAT BAMA WANTS, NO MATTER WHAT!!! IT'S THEIR BIRTHRIGHT! 2) Bama has to keep it's traditional rivals, but not by moving them to the east, with Aub, because it not only has to keep their traditional rivals, it can't mean that LSU would end up with an easier SEC schedule year in and year out, only bama can have that! 3) Tenn is "one day" going to be good again, (even if it isn't ever as good as Fla) until then LSU should just take it up the ass in scheduling 4) Ignore all other SEC scheduling inequities, such as LSU having to go to Ga even though we just went there in 2009, bama upgrading this year to the only east team worse than Missouri, Kentucky, this year, and bama having their 2 toughest games (LSU, A&M) moved to oppisite ends of the schedule, with open dates before both, after having them back to back last year gave them their hardest game and only loss. 5) Stop whining, bama didn't when they had teams with all those open dates, only, they did whine, ALOT.
Number 5 needed some modifications. Remember though that the Gumps don't view it as whining. To them it is pointing out a justification for their easy schedule. Also when they had such an inequity committed against them they feel that it can be brought up over numerous seasons.
This Bama fans doesn't care whether you play Florida each year. I doubt Alabama give it a lot of sincere thought. Florida fans seem not to be happy at the prospect of not seeing Les Miles smiling face at least once a year. As long as we play Tennessee, I personally don't care if Auburn ever plays Georgia again. But all signs are they want this oldest of rivalries to continue. Nope, LSU is the one making all the noise. If you can work it out, good for you, but we want our rivalry with the vils to continue and I don't see us going east to get it done.
