It would be pointless for them to pick OSU and LSU going to the NCG right??? Let them have fun with their hypothetical playoff since they're not the ones broadcasting the BCS bowls, except for the Rose Bowl, which is gonna be the worst of the BCS bowls.

I am getting tired of all this talk about people hating LSU. If a media type picks another team over LSU it does not mean he hates the Tigers.

I would, too. During the '03 season, I don't think that was the case, but in reality, we were a johnny come lately to the whole championship scenario.

We had a chance in '04 to cement our place as an elite CFB team, but Saban came out with an unprepared team for pretty much the entire '04 season. Remember how fat and out of shape the team was when they reported for fall camp that year? We weren't hungry, and the media we'd won over in '03 quickly turned their total attention to OU and USC (our performance in '04 may have actually HURT AU's shot @ jumping one of those two teams; OU was the team to be jumped.)

We became media darlings in the aftermath of Katrina and have never really looked back since. If we win on January 7th, we will be crowned the "team of the decade," and we still have bright days on the horizon. I'm not sure about the '08 season, but we could definitely be staring @ a preseason #1 ranking in '09 with a senior RP as QB, a more experienced D, and a more favorable home schedule.

Yep, and last year, they picked US to win the "pretend" playoff. We weren't playing for the national title then, and none of us griped about OSU/Florida not winning their little scenario.

Mark May and Rece Davis picked LSU to win in the mock playoff last year. Herbie picked LSU to lose to USC, Ohio State and Michigan, against whom he said "LSU would not gain a yard rushing."

Folks who think I'm being silly and petty, let me assure you I'm not losing sleep over these tards' opinions. Just wanted to throw it out there to see what you guys thought. :milesmic:

Last year ESPN was doing this same mock playoff and they were picking LSU. People here were tickled to death about it. Can't just be happy with being in the NC game? ESPN usually picks teams outside the NC game in their mock playoff. It makes other fans happy too, like it did for some of you last year.

I don't recall anyone picking USC to blow Texas out.

The way Texas was playing that year and the way LSU has played most of this year isn't the same thing.

Agreed as I was speaking outside the thread. I was in Austin prior to the SC/ Texas match up and the common nod round the camp fire was what to do with them Trojans.

Comparing those Longhorns with today’s tigers IS not a comparison. The 05 Longhorns had a splendid line and a mobile QB but hardly the arsenal of weapons the 07 Tigers possess on both sides of the ball.

Thanks for keeping me in line! :thumb:

"Blow out" was never used but "The Greatest Team Ever" question DAILY as they'd "Match" them up from teams of old......GAWD! I was sick of hearing it and sure Mack Brown was filling the locker room with material. Texas was getting no respect, I remember that much.

Throw in VY not receiving Heisman- that team went there with a chip on their shoulder.
