I think he'll be better than Big Baby. Hopefully, he'll come to LSU. Then he and Tommy Mason-Griffin could tear it up together. I believe they played with each other on the Houston Hoops AAU team. Also, can you imagine Gallon and J'mison Morgan playing side-by-side? Two huge monsters that would dominate the entire post area on offense and defense. Come on down to LSU, Mr. Gallon.
You are right, Tiny and the other "tiny" but potent, Tommy Mason-Griffin, were on the same AAU team together, and you know that's a factor in us having an inside track. But, to be honest, not a lot in that video "wowed" me. Both Morgan and Gallon strike me as raw big men, who still need to get into college shape. Morgan only averages like 13 and 10, with a handful of blocks--he also was an overweight center who has come a long way to lose weight, but not yet see his full potential. And, I'm not saying that they're not deserving of their stars, but I think both get a lot of credit for being "big" when other high school big men are trying to be the next Dirk. I see Dennis Harris in that mold, and he may have more of an impact than we think. Anthony Randolph has been the real deal, and I think a Dennis Harris coming in behind AR and playing against him in practice will set our PF spot for a while. "Tiny" right now is just using his girth to make space. He's not as explosive as he needs to be (most of his scores in that video are put backs). What LSU can do, however, is cut about 15-20 of fat of him and put on muscle. Then, him practicing and playing with J'Morgan gives you two "legit" bigs banging against each other, working with a staff that is very good with big men. I like TMG and Tiny as cornerstones of our '09 class. The work is to fill the wings, and I'd love to see our new HC focus on a real deal SG to play along side TMG (Brandon Mitchell may be that guy, but he's reported reconsidering his options after Brady was let go).
According to Skip it will be after BB season for LSU & the team who's coach they will be tring to hire. Which means we got a little time on our hands before finding out anything on the coach or the recruits.. I hate waiting!!
