We are young, like barely out if high school young... and still made it this far. We got a hell if a future ahead if us, but the level of talent we have has found it's peak. We have overachieved at this point and I hope we win tonight just to show these kids have more guts than they say, but we have met our match. Withstanding some bizzare shit, kind of tough to see another flight for these Tigers. Hope I am wrong.
This is all true but Lange seems to have more game than most where the other team gets in his head, regardless of skill/talent.
Thats true. He has been a real headcase this year. Last years Lange and we would have blown that team out. This years Lange and all the young mistakes makes it a tough battle, but I have seen this team play smart. They will have to tonight. Its not all that abnormal for them.
What concerns me the most is him losing focus when stealing second is a risk. Just a casual fan observation, no expert like Tirk/Itch.
I felt like he tried way to hard this year. Forced everything. Some times it worked, but most of the time it didn't. I thought for sure we had the second coming of Nola. I was also upset Bugg didnt stay in last night.
Hes also gotten out of many jams just like last night multiple times. And hes our best strikeout pitcher. So with the bases loaded, you give him more chances than say poche or valek. His hook was working but paps couldnt field it. Bugg got hit hard a couple times with them right at someone so you have some saying why not leave bugg in he was awesome. not really. But he may have settled in on the last batter. But pitchers are like women. You never fucking know. So everyone is always an expert after the fact. But specifically to last night, Lange was obsessed with the guy on first. I never understand why the pitcher doesnt realize a walk gets him to 2b anyhow. Get the dude at the plate. aint no such thing as an expert in baseball. Maybe once and his name was Skip Bertman. I knew when I was watching his success continually looked like something out of a movie script.
If we do win tonight, who do we start Monday? Can out bull pen hold them off? How deep are they at pitching? You have to think not too deep since their closer went 3 innings for 60 plus pitches. Something tells me if we win tonight they have no one else they can throw at us.
