I guess we're just going to have to wait and see. I'll be proud of this team no matter what considering we had to replace youth from last year. This team has s bright future. Geaux Tigers
i think you have me confused with those casual fans that only know we have a baseball team once postseason starts. people hear the name "Coastal Carolina" and automatically assume we're playing the little sisters of the poor. like Stony Brook or Houston, UC Irvine, etc. but this team has been solid for a while now and are not a fluke. to beat them in the next two we're gonna need for either our remaining pitchers to all morph into Aaron Nola, or our lineup to morph into our '96 squad. it's all about matchups. we don't matchup very well against this team. however, i think we are better built for play in Omaha than they are. So if CCU goes to Omaha and go 0-2 the casual fan will once again shout about how they weren't any good and we choked, etc. etc. that is in no way meant as a negative toward LSU at all. just calling it as objectively as I can.
we are a good team who played a good bit above its head during this stretch. But the postseason is exposing a few things. Duplantis is young and was 0 fer about the postseason til last night. And he cant throw too well along with all of our outfielders including fraley. fraleys bat speed however is about the best ive seen. incredible really. The meathead twins are 3 for the postseason combined along with romero I suppose. 3 for 40 maybe. Romero half assing it in the 9th and getting tagged out will likely be his last game as a tiger. inexcusable. if he stays on first, their closer morrison likely comes out and their not so deep pen brings a rattled arm in the game. Tying run on deck.
if you think this CCU team is even remotely comparable to the '08 Irvine team, you haven't seen very many games.
OK look dude, I was talking about coming back vs impossible odds. Are you really this daft? We were already down 1 game and down 3 runs in the 9th. We were done, toast, finished. But won and went on the win it all in 2009. SO sing your little story about CCU, I dont really give a shit. Dont bring us all down. We have a game to play tonight and Poche has been on.
I'm not singing anything. just talking about baseball and match ups. the matchup in this series favors coastal. which is why Vegas had us as the dog before the series started. they turned a game with our stud on the mound into a shootout. our lineup isn't designed to win shootouts. no matter who we put on the mound from here on out, they won't be as good of a pitcher as Lange is. can they turn in a brilliant performance and shut down CCU? absolutely. but. the odds of it happening aren't in our favor. I think we'll score some runs tonight too. just like last night. but if this turns into a track meet again, we'll be at a disadvantage because that's not what we're built to do.
