Just gotta add this to the punch list for the new stadium: Right field berm, water fountains, golf cart .....
well the backup 3b made a nice bobble/catch/recovery right after that could have saved a run that inning, so it may have helped them. but it does suck he had to get hurt. rice wouldn't have won with him in the lineup anyway. i'm glad LSU won with so many mistakes, but i hope they get these jitters out before eauxmaha. but i think rice is one of the four best teams in the nation with CSF, LSU and ASU. texas, in spite of their seeding, is way overrated. they just don't have the offense this season. the teams that stand out to me are: LSU and fullerton (should be in separate brackets.) now ECU just may upset UNC's chances, and virginia is a very balanced team, but i truly believe LSU and Fullerton have the most tools to win it all. wouldn't that be one helluva championship series?
Too bad CSF is on the same side of the bracket as us. We'll just have to deal with playing them once or twice.
I wanted a tough Regional and Super Regional because I think the Tigers play their best against top teams. Of the S.R. hosts, they had the toughest opponent yet swept them in two games. I think this team can handle anybody. :tigereye:
Great post JayB! And good point- if LSU is gonna make that many mistakes, let 'em do it now and get it out of their system. Texas is definitely overrated. TCU kept coming after them before texas pulled away, wouldn't that be a major upset? I'm looking forward for tomorrow, it's a great feeling to sit back (knowing that we're already in) and watch the rest of the super regional teams sweat and battle it out. I will be pulling for the SEC teams, and the underdogs. :thumb:
Mahtook's performance last night IS the reason Landry hasn't been getting much playing time. Mahtook goes 3-for-4 at the dish and made every defensive play possible--including that made-for-ESPN "web gem" (which he's had quite a few of lately). Mahtook was put in the lineup earlier in the year when Landry was struggling at the plate and Mahtook was making the most of his AB's during his minimal time playing. Now, I don't think it has anything to do with Landry struggling, but MORE to do with Mahtook playing INSANELY GOOD right now. Having said that, I'm surprised Landry didn't enter the game as a defensive replacement for Schimpf in the 9th. No doubt about it, Schimpf is in there for his offense and you don't ever want to take him out of a game too early, but I was more than uneasy with the amount of balls UVA launched into LF last night and Landry can definately cover more ground than Schimpf
