Was that Holt, the guy with the sizzling bat? Another dramatic finish for the final out. For this Super Regional Series I also enjoy the Capitol One Viking baseball ads; they reminded me a bit of the SuperBowl beer ads. :geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux:
A Rice fan on another fan board posted the point that pitching is their weaker link, with their strength in offense. Seems that way in this Super Regional.
I hear ya. It's sad that Reardon (sp?) had to miss this game. But like you said, his loss was NOT the reason Rice lost this series. In fact, if we didn't give away probably 6-8 outs ON THE BASEPATHS due to poor baserunning, over-agressiveness (Mathook and NUMEROUS occassions) and TERRIBLE steal attempt decisions (Mitchell's attempted steal of 3B late in today's game) then Rice might have been starring at a 4-run deficit instead of a 2 run. I always slam those who gripe when we don't thump our opponent by 50 for football, so I'm trying to not become one of those "gripers" for baseball. 'Cause we're back in the CWS, baby!!!! (I just hope we leave our poor baserunning behind)
to make matters worse, today is that kids 19th birthday P.S. Rice fans complaining that bullpen isn't behind a fence (even though several MLB parks bullpens are similar to ours), and that we didn't provide a golf cart to get him back to dugout
i feel bad for the kid. i hate to see that happen to any one. it looked to me like he got tangled up and was going down hurt before he hit the bullpen mound. did i not see that right? and arent the bullpens at rosenblatt like ours? (just had to get that in!)
he was limping before he got to the mound, so it ain't the ballpark's fault. just one of them freak injuries.
yeah, I think so. I can think of a few parks built like that (Metrodome, Tropicana, Wrigley, Zephyr, Turchin).
