Super Regional: Battle on the Bayou Sonny Shipp - 3 hours ago (Photo: 247Sports) The Super Regional is set and it will be a battle on the bayou featuring LSU against UL-Lafayette at Alex Box Stadium. LSU (51-10) punched its ticket by going undefeated in the Baton Rouge Regional. UL-Lafayette (42-21) went to the Houston Regional and claimed the title with a win over Rice on Monday. The Tigers and Cajuns played once this season with LSU taking an 8-6 victory at Zephyr Field. The Super Regional will consist of a best two-out-of-three series beginning either Friday or Saturday. Days and times are to be determined by the NCAA.
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Super Regional between LSU and UL-Lafayette will start Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Sunday's game will be played at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. It was air on ESPN2 or ESPNU. Monday's game, if needed, has lots of scenarios.
its usl and lsu. bad blood began way before that 2002 regional but that was the beginning of the end of the series. bertman wanted nothing to do with them after that. matt heath punked them during his homerun trot then got plunked. pitchers and position players got ejected. robichaux who is a damn good coach has been there since '94 called the code red and got ejected. he doesnt back down and his players emulate that. sometimes to a fault but them coonass boys got hot sauce in their blood naturally anyway. i wonder how many will have bleached hair this year. and aaron hills bat did slip out his hand but the ump didnt care either way. he was gonzo but the ump didnt realize hill would be automatically suspended for the next game by doing so. he said he wouldnt have tossed him if he had known that.
I gotta think this is the last team LSU wanted to see. Not because they are scared of them but because there is no pressure on USL. If they lose....hell it goes in the books like every other USL team, they just join the long list of USL teams who were inferior to LSU. All the pressure is on the Tigers, this team doesn't want to be remembered as the team who got eliminated in the SR and allowed the Cajuns their 2nd trip to Omaha in USL's history.
cajuns arent going anywhere. this is how it is when they play any local team which they do all season long. they are pressure tested. just hope poche' is on an all will be ok. usl always presses against us because they want to beat their sibling so badly. they'll likely have 3 errors.
